Aphrodisiac eh? Hohooo. Not that they caressed one another. That part threw me in a whirling state of falling obsessively in love. Beyond Bella's awareness, Edward lingered in her room at night giving her an eye while she sleeps. "You're interesting when you sleep" . Edward told Bella that she mentioned his name a lot in her sleep. *frantic giggles* They didn't really do the deed. Why didn't they do so? Edward said (perhaps not in this chapter) that humans are fragile. He might crush Bella's bones by accident. (Tis fine! Crush me, Edward.)
When I reached HIDE AND SEEK and THE ANGEL, chapter 22-23 , I got so disappointed. Bella's the one narrating, and by that time, she was in her pain delirium. Sorry Isabella, but I'm more interested with the Cullen's battle with James... than your "nothing-special" near-death encounter. Heh!! The author took my eyes! I was expecting for a detailed heart-hammering fight. The book left me starving... and I HATED IT! WAAAAAHH!!!!!
The author, she should have been more descriptive... a little like Stephen King, but not exactly huh. (I dislike Stephen King's WORDiness... that makes him the PALABOK KING. This is just my opinion, ayt... so don't argue.) It'll be more stirring if she had written the story picturesquely. She must have gotten something to fire up my imagination. Specify more. The narration's lacking with sensationalism and word artistry. And the Epilogue, do you still want me to continue? Lol. Oh that too old and cheesy PROM scenario.... Come on! Anything else aside rom that? WTF?! But open endings are great. Did he or did he not? Book 2, hang on.
To top it all, with those complaints mentioned... I STILL LOVE IT. I LOVE YOU ALEX FOR SENDING ME A COPY OF IT. Thanks.
It's gonna be shown in big screen next month. I'm losing my head over that movie. I've watched different versions of the trailer over a hundred times. I've read some lines uttered by the motion picture casts. That's good. I hope the film won't shit on my face. I'm expecting they included all the scenes from the novel. I noticed they made some alterations. How rude. Lol. (Akala ko ba duguan si Bella sa bandang huli?) But I saw the blue van's dent as described in the book. Alright, alright I haven't seen the rest of the film...I'm shutting up.

Haven't heard of this before, but when I saw vampire and horny within a few sentences of each other, I had to investigate further. lol
Sounds like you really got to know the characters in this. Even with your feelings on how the author executed the story, I can tell it left a lasting impression on you.
Since I'm about as likely to read another book right now as I am to turn into dust when the sun rises tomorrow..... I went to check out the trailer for the movie instead. :D
Looks pretty cool. Daywalkers, eh? After a bit of disappointment with 30 days of night, I can see myself checking this one out in hopes that it'll redeem the vampire genre once again.
We'll see!
I'm skeptical of book to movie productions -- most producers and directors mess it up something awful and do the book no justice. But, you never know.
Since I haven't read the story, I guess I won't know the difference anyway..
I did read a bit about the author -- and cool that these characters and the story spawned from a dream she had. If I ever wrote something from a dream, it would be banned by the motion picture association of america, that's for sure. :O
banned by the motion picture association of America...
Too much obscenity?LOL
I'm really glad you came here Jack..Thanks!!
I think obscenity would definitely cause the MPAA to ban my dream to film creations. lol! Though I had a good one last night. NC-17 at worst, I think.. :D
Can't wait to hear your review on this movie when it comes out!
Hope you see this comment.
I was surfing around earlier and saw an ad for something Twilight related, clicked it, and thought of this post! Hehe.
