TWILIGHT, the movie

The movie has no match for my perfectly vivid imagination

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight? Don't watch the goddamn movie... Just read the book. My contemplation was thwarted. It didn't have all the earmarks of how I have envisaged it. The movie has no match for my perfectly vivid imagination.Didn't they even come up with a love-evoking soundtrack? I haven't seen anything you might consider "effects". And if there were, how do you expect me to rate it? It's like watching the very first version of King Kong. They must have made use of "speed camera". Hah! Old school. You call that flying, or obviously being carried by a glue-footed lifting gear?

The smirks of disappointment lingered on my lips. I know it's more of a love story, rather a gory action-stuffed vampire motion picture, but it's not much of an excuse to neglect the visuals. Flat. Black and white! And crap... There are lines from the book that should have been included. The Fu*k? Screw it, I haven't tasted a slight tinge of romance in the dialogues. Poor thing huh. They must have paid Stephenie Meyer to do the script. Darn.

As always and expected... Jumbled story sequence! Edited scenes and no-good alterations... *sigh. What's that to do? They're establishing their "own"? It didn't make any edge at all. Suck it.

Casting and characterization... basing on my opinion. Just some.

the Rosalie- Statuesque, the kind you saw on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, the kind that made every girl around her take a hit on her self-esteem just by being in the same room. Sorry, this one fell below my beauty judgment criteria. Her face is a common American beauty. And ohh, they angled the spotlight at her in some scenes without any qualms, to give special prominence to the nature she has. She's in one fabricated scene delivering lines. Is that your launching movie, actress Nikki? Lols. In the book she only exists by description...

the Mike Newton- Are you sure that's him? Why isn't he shadowing Bella (like a Golden Retriever wagging its tail)? There must be this sort of love triangle! Edward's jealous of him! Alright the spikes on his head, that's the only right thing in his character portrayal. What happened huh?Hellooo.

the Carlslile- Young, blond and handsomer than a movie star. Okay, the chosen actor has my approval. *wink

the Tyler- He's supposed to tail Bella around... aaaarghh!

the Jacob Black- Deplorable. Just to say, his looks is distant from the vignette I had in mind.

the Isabella Swan- Don't they have any other choice? I'm looking for someone competent. Her acting's lame. I couldn't feel her.

the Edward Cullen- Thank you for choosing the ever hottie Robert Pattinson. He got the face and figure I pictured. Edward has this constantly changing mood. He's sometimes somewhat rude that then will suddenly switch to being such a tease yet very affectionate. The Edward Cullen portrayed, as how I discerned is kind of only centered on his roughness. Why is that so?

Chief Charlie Swan- the comic relief... wait up, did I say relief? from what? Where's the fire of passion? the suspense? and the climax? with this film I wasn't given another thought about those. But I appreciate the humor which is NOT (again) in the book.

Others unmentioned are just fair enough.

I've waited in agony for this movie, and this is what I freaking got... tons of disappointments. Don't watch the movie just read the book. Twilight movie enthusiasts... my apologies.

*I like
-The baseball game. It surpassed my fancy.
-Tree-crawling (another fabrication) . Awww... me , blushing.
-The "The Lion fell in love with the Lamb" dramatization. Good thing they added that.

*eyebrow-raiser
-Victoria snatching the floor at the end of the film. What's it for? Useless. Meyer's version is better I say, though it's past my grandfather's prime. *grinning

I will roll the movie again. For the time being, I will erase what's on my headboard. I must forget about the book for a while to hold myself aloof from drawing parallels.

This would be my initial review.

Rate what?
eh?

'One star'
... that goes out to Robert Pattinson, alone.
Without him, you're all dead!

Oh My God!!!!!

This is the best review I've read so far! It's fucking good!!! bwahahahahahaha....
Gang, I will still watch the movie for the sake of being able to watch it but I'm not gonna sacrifice myself from falling in line and the possibility of watching it without even an armrest to seat on. Add the fact that there will be a lot of screaming fans at your back, at your front and both at your sides while you are trying to get a grip with the dialog...darn, forget it! I'll just wait for a clear-copy pirated DVD to come out.
But I do believe you gang. If you said the movie was lame, I believe the movie was indeed lame. *sigh* What a shame.

Sure, sure.

Been looking forward to reading your review on this ever since you introduced me to the fact there was a movie. Too bad it looks like it sucked - and not in a good way. lol. When will hollywood make a decent vampire flick? Bah. I think this is one of those things I will watch out of morbid curiosity eventually -- but I will wait until I can see it for free somewhere. Thanks for the the review Lady. ^o^
